autoVoIP™ Simulator simulates VoIP traffic and monitors ongoing QoS for different points on the network.

Used essentially post deployment, the VoIP monitoring tool tracks the QoS 24/7 week in week out. This identifies time-based variations in the VoIP QoS as well as ensures that suitable Codec are used.

autoVoIP™ Simulator can be used with any type of VoIP network to measure QoS over time at user selected key points on the network by simulating synthetic phone traffic.

A true VoIP simulator, using real RTP frames, autoVoIP™ Simulator uses identical frames and sends them consistently at same frame rate.

autoVoIP™ Simulator focuses on monitoring QoS between two points on the network, simulating the media (RTP) and reporting on QoS using RTCP signaling, hence it can be used on all types of VoIP networks to provide a 24/7 analysis of the actual QoS achieved.

autoVoIP™ Simulator can be used to monitor QoS in situations where the phones may not be in use or where the Phones are not capable of providing QoS.

The VoIP testing tool is easy to install and deploy. A Simulator Host PC and Simulator Sink PC are needed.

A single Simulator Host PC and multiple free Simulator Sink systems can be deployed to monitor the QoS for several paths on the network simultaneously.

Codima offers free downloadable software for the Simulator Sink PC that can be installed on lower specified PC Platforms, making it more cost effective to deploy.

An empowering function is the web based Report Browser that supplies valuable SLA information. It provides History charts/HTML Reports covering QoS, percentage of lost frames and jitter and automatically creates daily, weekly and monthly reports covering the simulation results.

Key Functions
  • A Simulator Organizer used to build Simulators, which create a stream of RTP frames addressed to a Simulator Sink system, and display the QoS achieved between the two points on the network. Simulators give the user control of:
    • Target address
    • Priority (DiffServ)

    • Simulated phone jitter buffer
  • Simulator Sink systems - free software for installation at the destination address (remote end). Sink Systems reports back using RTCP, in the same way a phone would. This method allows the autoVoIP™ Simulator (and if required a third party) to measure jitter and frame loss

Requirements
  • A minimum of two PC platforms are required to operate autoVoIP™ Simulator:
  • Host PC used to send out RTP frames based on user input to the Sink PCs IP address
    • Processor : 2 GHz or faster
    • Memory: Minimum 1Gb
    • Graphics Card: Minimum 16Mb
    • Operating System: Microsoft® Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista or Windows 7
    • Screen resolution: 1280x1024 (recommended), 1024 x768 (minimum)
  • Basic Sink PC the remote end used to respond, i.e., send back RTCP reports to the Host PC:
    • Processor : 1 GHz or faster
    • Memory: Minimum 512Mb
    • Graphics Card: Minimum 16Mb
    • Operating System: Microsoft® Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista or Windows 7
